Where does wax go when you are burning a candle?

Have you ever wondered where candle wax goes when you burn a candle? As the wick burns, the heat from the flame melts the wax, which then travels up the wick via capillary action. The liquid wax then vaporizes and reacts with the oxygen in the air, creating a flame. The wax is consumed by the flame, turning into heat, light and carbon dioxide. So, next time you light a candle, remember that the wax is not disappearing, its simply transforming!
